About Us
Bella Vista is a shade-grown Arabica coffee cultivated in the volcanic highlands of Tres Ríos, Costa Rica. Grown at more than 1,400 meters above sea level, the estate benefits from the precise natural conditions that define world-class coffees: elevation, fertile soil, cool temperatures, and slow cherry maturation.
These factors contribute to the production of Strictly Hard Bean (SHB) coffee, recognized for density, structure, and cup quality.

Heritage
A legacy rooted in Tres Ríos since 1904
The Bella Vista story began when Arnold André Vessel arrived from Germany in 1898 and acquired 550 hectares of land. In 1904, he began building what would become a lasting coffee tradition in Tres Ríos.

Origin
Grown in one of Costa Rica’s most distinguished coffee regions
Tres Ríos has been known for exceptional coffee since the 19th century. Its unique altitude, volcanic soil, and climate produce coffees of elegance, balance, and complexity.

Quality
Strictly Hard Bean quality
Bella Vista is grown above 1,400 meters, where conditions favor the development of strictly hard beans with a closed cleft — a hallmark of some of the finest coffees in the world.

Process
From ripe cherry to sun-dried perfection
Only fully ripe cherries are selected. The coffee is processed in an eco-friendly mill and then sun dried to preserve clarity, sweetness, and character in the cup.
